COVID-19 Information and Resources: LEARN MORE.
We understand that residency can be a stressful time. In addition to the academic rigors of residency, we know that our residents develop a strong connection to those in our community while learning to care for them.
Although this capacity to interact with our community with compassion is one of the standards that sets NHRMC apart from other organizations, caring for others can take a toll on those involved in providing care.
Maintaining this high level of care - often under stressful conditions - can lead to burnout. Unless you take time to care for yourself as well, it can be difficult to care for others.
In addition to the many resources we have in place to help our residents address their physical, social, emotional, spiritual and economic dimensions well-being, we also offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for times when you might need some additional support.
You can also visit Employee Health and Clinic to set up an appointment.
We also encourage you to speak to a program director, the GME Office or other faculty if you are feeling overwhelmed or are concerned about a fellow resident.
