NHRMC's preoperative optimization clinic is an innovative program focused on managing risk factors ahead of surgery to improve surgical outcomes.
The clinic focuses on:
- Surgical and non-surgical obesity management options
- Smoking cessation counseling
- Cardiac and pulmonary assessment
- Anemia treatment
This has drastically reduced post-surgical transfusion requirements and greatly improved outcomes.
