Volunteers play an important role by adding a personal touch to interactions with patients, loved ones and visitors. As a volunteer, you are often the first face those arriving at our facility see. Our volunteers are often recognized and remembered for having made a difference in our patients' and visitors' lives. Please consider giving back to your community by volunteering with us.
Attention: Thank you for your interest in volunteering with NHRMC. At this time, we are only processing volunteer registered nurse (RN) applications at this time. In order to qualify for this area, applicants must have a valid North Carolina nursing license.
All other volunteer services programs have been suspended due to COVID19 and we are not processing applications at this time. If you would like to help in another way, please consider donating to the Emergency Response Fund through NHRMC Foundation.
Share Your Time and Talents
Each of our nearly 900 volunteers brings different backgrounds and experiences. Our volunteers are teens, college students, retirees, former patients and other community members.
NICU Baby Cuddler Position
One of the most popular requests for placement is as a "Cuddler Volunteer" in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). We are always impressed and touched by the community's concern for our tiniest and most vulnerable infants. At this time, the NICU Baby Cuddler position is only open to current NHRMC volunteers with a minimum of six months of service.
We have many exciting volunteer opportunities to match your diverse interests and skills, from performing clerical duties to being involved more directly with patients and families. We invite you to take a moment to find your place at NHRMC and fill out the adult application.
Useful Information for Our Volunteers
Once you become a new volunteer, orientation is available to familiarize you with the organization, your duties, and policies and procedures. Annual education is offered to volunteers with continued interest in sharing their time with us.
Become a Member of NHRMC Auxiliary
All volunteers are invited to join the NHRMC Auxiliary, which helps raise money to support programs that benefit the hospital. Members help guide fundraising efforts among the volunteers and support the hospital's charitable mission. Learn more about NHRMC Auxiliary membership.
